BGA’s 18th Annual Conference
Earlier this week, we exhibited at the BGA’s 18th Annual Conference, which was held at the Institution of Civil Engineers, Westminster. The event was very well attended and it was a welcome return to face-to-face networking, buffet lunches and drinks inside the majestic Great Hall.
The talks commenced with an address by Professor Kelvin Higgins, chairman of the BGA and was followed throughout the day by a selection of talks covering a broad range of geotechnical areas including HS2 and Hinkley Point project updates, climate change modelling, CIRIA’s work on geotechnical and geo-environmental issues, Network Rail’s journey to zero carbon as well as Geotechnical challenges within offshore wind and an update from the AGS and BGA Technologists.
Thanks to Professor Dave Richards from Southampton University for his talk on ‘Foundations for overhead electrified line equipment’ where he showed some nice photographs of our CPT rigs in action!
We are looking forward to attending all the other events which have been rolling on in our calendars over the last 18 months!
