In Situ’s Commitment to the Environment
In Situ Site Investigation have always been keen advocates for doing all we can to protect our environment. Starting with reducing plastic waste, we have issued all staff reusable water bottles which have been used successfully on site as well as in the office. We have always aimed for a ‘paperless office’ saving all files to our secure network which can be accessed remotely when working from home as well as in the office.
Another recent step is to encourage our rig data sheets to be downloaded from our website; this is also stated at the bottom of all our emails. We will be limiting the number of hard copies of our brochures at exhibitions and marketing events and as of this year, will not be printing any more out. Therefore, please visit our website for all rig specifications.
Last May, we were proudly awarded our Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Bronze level and are constantly striving to raise the level of quality within our fleet operations and to enhance our safety, efficiency, and environmental protection measures.
In the last three years, we have invested in 13 new company vans, all with Euro 6 compliant engines enabling us to comply with London’s Low Emission Zone and in turn improve our carbon footprint.
Furthermore, in the last year, we have purchased two brand new 20t crawler rigs (‘Bob’, CPT012 and ‘Vic’, CPT022) both are fully Euro 6 (tier 4) compliant.
Our ongoing investment in this area now includes another HGV tractor unit giving us two HGV tractor units with the latest Euro 6 compliant diesel engines. This commits us to transporting our CPT rigs to and from site with minimal pollution.
