CPT010, Walter, is ideal for geotechnical testing on hardstanding sites such as road and car parks. Fitted with reflective yellow and red chevrons, these high visibility rear markings meet the ‘Chapter 8’ requirements for vehicles working on highways. Therefore, Walter was ideal for completing this project on the M4. A series of 44 CPTs were carried out over a total of 18 night shifts by our highly experienced staff.

The investigation was to determine the suitability of the ground for new signs, stanchions and gantries. The CPTs ranged from 9 metres to 21 metres as some were stopped due to the presence of very dense gravels. We also discovered layers of chalk and clay and were able to produce a detailed report of the ground conditions for our client.
