In Situ Site Investigation has won the Ground Investigation Specialist of the Year
The deserving winners of the 2016 GE Awards were announced on 30 June at the Hilton Park Lane, London.
The GE Awards brought together over 700 leaders in consultancy and contracting in the geotechnical engineering industry for a glittering afternoon of celebration, recognition and networking.
After review by our panel of 45 expert judges, In Situ Site Investigation won in recognition for their ‘passion for geotechnical investigation and technology’. Judges were impressed that the company ‘demonstrated a high level of community engagement at professional, project and local levels’ and referred to their investigation for the rebuild of Hastings Pier and inspiring local school children with the work they do.
Furthermore, they commented on In Situ’s ‘excellent performance in turnover, margins and staff growth since its launch in 2008, with an impressive set of case histories’. They were also given the huge accolade of ‘setting the standard for specialist testing’.
Judges were also impressed with how In Situ ‘demonstrated how it is using experience gained on challenging projects to benefit its other clients’ and that the ‘business is investing in the sector by sharing knowledge with clients and non-clients alike in order to raise understanding of specialist techniques.”
The In Situ Site Investigation team were over the moon at winning this prestigious award and felt it was testament to their hard work over the years.
Alexandra Wynne, acting editor of GE and deputy editor of New Civil Engineer, commented:
“This year’s winners truly demonstrate exceptional engineering excellence. It is a time to focus on how this industry can be nimble, and ready itself to respond as soon as the opportunities arise. And all our winners today really do show what the industry is capable of and that it is ready to take on the next challenge.”
