Last month, we completed a one day job on the beautiful Thames Wharf, overlooking the iconic O2. We were testing the ground to see if conditions were suitable for our client to place a giant crane, weighing 140 tonnes on the bank of the Thames.

The crane will be used to lift several barges into the river which will eventually be used to transport waste material out of London. This initiative will help reduce the amount of tipper trucks in the capital; having a positive impact on traffic congestion as well as the environment.

The CPTs were completed successfully and we were able to give the results to our client on the same day; allowing them to start assembling the crane whilst we were still on site. Efficiency all round (and a fabulous view!)
