October the 4th and 5th 2013 was the date of the 1st CPT training course in Albania. The course was arranged between the metropolitan university of Tirana and TT soil earthquake consulting from Albania. The course was sponsored and supported by ourselves.

The course was a great success with the 120 places filling up quickly we even had to turn people away (they are in line for the 2nd course!).

The course was presented by John Powell and Tom Lunne 2 of the authors of ‘Cone Penetrative Testing in Geotechnical Practice’.  We were also lucky enough to have Professor Silvano Marchetti join the course to talk about the Marchetti dilatometer.

The course was the big unveiling of our new company In situ Balkans which will now operate from Albania serving the Balkan region, and also a chance to show off our latest rig that will be based permanently in the Balkans.
